How has your life changed under the influence of Harry Potter?

I know, some of you will look at the question and think it's silly. Harry Potter is, after all, basically a book series.

However, Harry Potter is very important to most of us. It represented a time period of our life. It can represent the test of our patience in-between books, our childhood enjoyment over the last few years, the wonderfully modern version of the classic moral that love can overcome all obstacles, and much more.

What was Harry Potter to you? How has it affected your life, if it even affected you at all? Have things changed since you read the last book?

I know, weird to start asking these questions NOW, but I figure that more people would be done with the 7th now. I'm sorry for complicated questions. I tend to be a bit teacher-like when it comes to asking questions like these.
Oh, no! Now I have realized too late where the book section was! Um, please forgive me for the odd section selection!

I have never read or will read a Harry Potter book, or see a Harry Potter Film....I believe the author is promoting the
influence upon children of the belief in sorcery and witchcraft....two things our Christian Faith in America forbids and the Bible explicitly tells us to "flee away from ". Sorcerors will end up in hell....they are servants of Lucifer, the enemy of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is sad that today's society has deteriorated so much in its morals that it would even allow such books into the public libraries, much less into our public schools, while at the same time, they do all they can to suppress and oppress the freedom of Christian students to follow and exercise their right to freedom of religion and speech at their schools....a sad commentary indeed, to see America turn to Sorcery and witchcraft instead of Jesus in our schools. Our future generation will thus have no idea of what is right and wrong, and not have any clue how to have the greatest gift every given, eternal life and peace with our
    Creator.

hmm...i don't think that it is a silly question at all.

if i can remember the first time I read book one it was my last year of college. I was preparing to enter the real world.

Now that i have completed book seven, I have 6 yrs worth of experience and travelled 6 countries. in some of those travels I have a harry potter book with me to accompany me.

All in all, i would say the books have been my companion for some of my travels in life. They make me laugh, think, feel sad, and long for the next one to come. Now that it have ended, i would think that I would also need to move on. To find another companion as I travel through life...
