    transfer of ownership with firearms

not so. if he sold it he sold it. a bill helps, but isn't necessary. i know in Florida it is illegal for the police to keep records of ownership for more than 48 hours. hes fine selling it to his friend, once he does it isn't his problem anymore. the only thing that says you own it is your paperwork at the gun shop, and that only proves it was yours at some point.

    transfer of ownership with firearms

Cops in Upstate New York are straight retarded.

Although you're right.. Some type of legal document outlining the sale is something I'd strongly suggest.

    You're from JC, right?

    transfer of ownership with firearms

    yessir

well endicott to be specific, but our studio is in jc

yeah cops around this area fuckin suck

i was on mm way home with 3 of my buddys in my exploder from shootin up on my buddys land..got pulled over and the cop seen 3 ak-47's, 1 russian saiga, and 2 pistrol grip 12 gauges(all in the back of the truck, unloaded unattached mags)..fuckin pulled out his gun and made us all get out and sit on the curb...called in backup and ran all of our id's and ran all the guns and made sure everything matched to our names and shit...

thats my main reason for wanting to do this with paperwork and do everything right through a dealer or whatever needs to be done so if somethin happens in the future with my buddy it doesnt get traced to me

Get a case for your weapons so that they don't get damaged and that if you have to stop at a gas station people aren't like OMG ASSAULT WEAPONS !I!@#@!

I believe the only weapons that actually require a bill are those listed in the NFA Act... sawn-off shotguns, silencers, machine guns... but I'm sure a notarized bill of sale would help, too. Though you could ask at the local police department, courthouse, or gun shop, as someone else said, just to be sure with your local laws and regulations, seeing as you are in NY.
