Hi, I was wondering if Asteria (the RPG by Amaranth and Lone Wolf Games) has already been uploaded here? I went back pretty far on this thread and didn't find it, but I may have just missed it.

How to use persistent

guide for windows 7 only. if you use windows 8 or linux or a mac, ask someone else to help you.

pictures provided where possible.


A) download game
B) install game
C) run it and then shut the game down
D) download persistent


1) make sure your computer has hidden files revealed.
windows 7 people do this - read and follow the instructions here if you have windows 7 - How to show hidden files in Windows 7

2) in case that is too confusing for you. Yes, people have complained about it lots, here is a guide with pictures for windows 7 people on how to show hidden folders
make sure you have "show hidden file extension" activated. to do that, here are instructions with pics:

(o) look at how the selection at the words "hide extensions for known file types" - is no longer ticked - http://i.imgur.com/R6w5LHW.png

3) Once everything is closed, click the start button again and the menu will pop up.
a) in this new menu, focus on the right side where you clicked "control panel" just now
b) look at the top of the right hand side for your user name of your computer
c) if that is too hard for you (yes, people tell me i am a liar because they do not see the things i describe when i try to help them), click the start button to reveal the pop up menu, zero your eyes in on control and look up until you see your user pic on your computer. under that userpic, will be your user name. click it
d) after you click your user name, look for AppData. click it
e) now click ROAMING
f) in the "roaming" folder, look for RenPy. click it
g) look for the game title you want to apply the PERSISTENT file into. click it
h) minimise the folder. i will call this "hidden renpy game folder" for easy reference.
i) once "hidden renpy game folder" is minimised, open the folder in your machine with the persistent file
j) copy the persistent file of the game with the same name as the folder you minimised.
k) now maximise hidden renpy game folder, paste the persistent file in here.
l) say yes when your machine asks you if you sure you want to replace the file.


This is how you use persistent. if this is still too hard for you. Yes, i get complaints that my instructions are too difficult, i will tell you in words with my instructions above USING A REAL GAME example.


Pretend you have the game Nicole
pretend you have downloaded the Nicole persistent

First, you do steps A-D
Now, you do steps 1-2 and the steps 3a-3f

after doing step 3f, you are in the roaming folder. look for Nicole. click it.
- do you see file persistent in here? do nothing. minimise the nicole folder
- now, go to wherever on your machine your download of Nicole's precracked persistent has ended up in.
- copy it.
- maximise the nicole folder. paste it inside here.
- say yes when your machine asks you if you are sure.

close everything when you are done.

go back to computer home screen.

now, run game. it should play normally.

do this for all the games that you have persistent for.

I cannot make my method any simpler. If it is still too hard for you and you still do not understand, please ask someone with more patience and better picture taking skills to give you better instructions with pictures.

sadly, pepe, that is indeed my experience and it is equally as frustrating as receiving accusations of sharing "defective" games when they can't unzip it because they did not bother to check file size or use latest winrar

Yes, the game you want does not have a demo. But it has a beta version known as 0.7.

Keep that in mind.

Search the pages of this place for said game with that specific version.

Download it.

Doing that will accomplish step A

Do not ask me to give you the game when I do not have it. I am waiting for the full game to be released whenever that may be.

If you cannot find 0.7 of the game you seek, accept reality.

Now, ask yourself - how desperate are you to play the game?

a) not very desperate. if so, then do what i am doing - wait for the full game however long that will take
b) very X 1,000,000,000 desperate. i want to play it NOW
c) I am very, very, super desperate BUT I ONLY WANT the latest version OR NOTHING

if you answered (b), then you have NO CHOICE.

Go through the pages here until you find a working download link for version 0.6a. Download it. This will accomplish Step A in the Persistent instructions I supplied.


If you answered (c), then tough luck. No one has shared 0.7 yet. Deal with it and accept reality. Either wait for the full game OR make do with 0.6a, or deal with it.

It sounds harsh but that is the way it is.
