i've had this problem for 3 days,& didn't install any programs on it or modify any of it's settings before that.

Chances are you have auto update turned on. The phone attempts to do this everytime you power it back on to make sure it's synced up with the towers around you. If you run around in your settings you should be able to find it, and then turn it off. This should stop the process.
