    Shutdown and have a coffee, then restart the computer and see if you can get the updates then.

    run a good virus scanner and spyware scanner in safe mode, then contact assisted support. will take a few days.

    Possible problems:1) Poor internet connection at that time, routing problem, problem on Microsoft server, anything related to network issues...2) You are using a pirate copy of Windows, or Microsoft thinks that you are, in which case you should contact them and tell them you are not!3) Since you can't update, I'm guessing you're running IE6, download IE7 and upgrade to 7 and try again, maybe IE is broken, if you already have IE7 try reinstall it anyway. Or try Firefox, it can also do Windows updates.4) Check for Ad-ware that might be breaking your IE5) Windows repair or re-install might be a last resort6) Contact Microsoft Support as mentioned in the messageHope this helps in some way.

    Hey.Have you turned on the Windows Update.Check to make sure whether you turned on Windows Update.Because, to use Windows, Microsoft Update, or Office Update, you have to turn on the Windows Update.If not, try turn on the Windows Update. Bottom of link tells you about how to do it.
