Thread: are newsgroups safer than torrents?

a few of my friends have received letters telling them to stop using torrents so they switched over to newsgroups, i was just wondering if it is safer and if anyone has ever received any letters or warnigs using it.

Anytime you download anything off the web/net you are "at risk"!
Advise is ... download ... but b4 you open it ... SCAN IT!!!!!!

Be absolutely sure you are current on you AV software too.

SCARED NOW??? LOL .. just use common sense precautions. Life has NO 100% guarantees anyway.

Safer it might be.

But its still illegal, and you will still get caught.

if you pick an SSL newsgroup that keeps no logs.
It would take a computer today like a trillion years to decrypt what you downloaded.
