Thread: What was the Blues brothers movie about?

I never understood it.

Plot-wise it's about two orphanage brothers who were in a blues band trying to get the band back together after time apart to save said orphanage. Road trip, hilarity and general comic genius (not to mention some great music and cameos by great musicians) ensues.

Really though it was an excuse for John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd to get together to make a film and play some blues music in their SNL characters...the Blues Brothers.

It is a tale of redemption for the paroled convict Jake Blues and his brother Elwood as they decide to take on a "mission from God" and reform their blues band in order to raise funds to save the Roman Catholic orphanage where they grew up.
