Motorola Phone tools not recognizing my MotoROKR E8?

Hi guys I am using MotoRokr E8. Installed the Motorola Phone tools v5.13b as per the instructions. then the problem starts, when I connect my phone to my laptop it is not recognized and says" Unknown phone is found. either it is not recognized or your phone needs a newer version of the software". I have already checked the official Motorola site, where it says E8 supports the moto phone tools.I need to use it for internet as a modem.
