Detective Took My Motorola MTX Radio Prgmd. To My Local Sheriff's Office.......?

Hi,I Live In Florida and im 17.i want to be a deputy when i get older so im intrested in law enforc. well In Jan 2009 i bought a Motorola MTX8000 radio on ebay which is the same the sheriff's deputies carry out here. well i had it programmed ( 800 MHZ Trunking) to the local sheriff's office by a guy in north carolina and told the guy that programmed it to only program it to recieve not to transmit so i could only be able to listen and have it like a scanner.

Well i never tryed to key up on the radio since i thought you couldnt talk on it since i told the guy to program it..

well around FEB 2009 i went into a pawn shop to make a payment on a item and there happend to be a detective in there..i had the radio in my back pocket..that was the first time i had carried it in public..which was obviously a bad move!!...

well once i came out the detective asked to talk to me and i agreed..so we walked to his car and he asked to see the radio and i gave it to him. he looked at it and keyed up and called out his Radio ID number and dispatch responded back with his Radio Id...well i heard dispatch say they were looking for that radio because it had keyed up on the radio system several times. ( Which i didnt know and i never did it so it must have been when i carried it in my back pocket when i was at home.)

so anyways he said he was not gonna give me the radio back and it would be up to the explorer leader if i got my radio back.( I was a explorer with the sheriffs office at the time)..and he gave me his card and left...

well once i got home my explorer leader came to my house and said there was gonna be a investigation and i was gonna be suspended from the explorer post till the investigation was over and that i could be criminally charged for this. But she said the case would be handed to detectives and i would hear from them.

well i never heard from them and its now October 2009 and still nothing..No detective ever visited me or called me and i lost the detectives card so i cant call him...and i was never given a case number...

So what should i do?
what do you think about this situation?....
let me know what you think the outcome might be...

thanks
