    What is the sales tax on selling stocks with the value amount of $182,177.72 in

    California? If I was going to sale my stocks that are valued at 2,177.72 what would the sales tax end up totaling? I live in California but the stocks are out of New York City parent company

    There is no sales tax when selling stocks. You would have to pay either capital gains or income tax depending on the situation.

    Tax rates depend on how much you gained and how long you owned the stocks
