Thread: what does per capita sales mean in a tradeshow?

I will be joining a tradeshow.

the statistics state:

exhibitors = 285
per capita sales = 2,568

I am a potential exhibitor. I would like to know how much the sales are (on average) of the other exhibitors. I am not sure how to translate the PER CAPITA part

Per capita means quite simply per individual. This means if total sales are say $10,000 and there are 10 exhibitors, your per capita value is $1,000
it is calculated by taking the total sales and dividing by the total population just like any simple average.
sales/population = average value (per capita)
so in this case, the average sales each exhibitor makes would be $132,568.
