He would have signed with the Yankees if the Phillies hadn't made an offer to him. It wasn't like he completely turned down the offer. He was literally hours away from signing with NY, until the Phillies stepped in and surprised all of us.

That was amazing, it surprised me so much. I just took out my Cliff Lee shirt I had put away since they got rid of him and wore it today. The Yankees can't buy everyone.
