Meat that goes on sale...even at Whole Foods...is it ever good for buying?
Question #1: yes no question...I shop mostly at whole foods and trader joe's now if that makes a difference, but I'm wondering, should I ever buy meat that is on sale?
Question #2: *Why* does meat go on sale? Many grocery store items go on sale and is ok to buy...But for meat, when it's on sale does it always have to be because it may be gettin' old or gettin' to be no good real soon? Can i get away with, or should I seek money savings opportunities, in buying meat on sale???
Question #3: I would've thought Whole Foods to be excluded from putting meat on sale because it's getting old...when I asked the head of the meat dept, he said their meat is "always" fresh. (i'm wondering, what about the one I just got for sale last night, that turned out smelling sour and I had to take back to the store.....) The only answer he has is...all their meats are fresh, and that I can get a refund.
I don't care that much about the refund, I just want to know how to guarantee myself some good, fresh meat in the future.
please shed your expertise...
