How come when I identify as white people some black people look at me as a sell-out?
I grew up with my white side of my family.
I identify with white people more than I do black and growing up in a white family has everything to do with that. I don't downright deny my black side but I identify better with the side I grew up in.
Black people I've met have looked at me like I'm "self-hating" and I'm "confused" and that I should identify with the black side because they're more accepting for me. To be honest, I haven't experienced any racism and everybody I've met that they assume won't accept me, accept me.
