Thread: Are Grammy winners/nominations based on how many records you sale?

and not whether the song/artist is good or not?

ie. Im notorious for having the worst ablum of the year to music critics but I managed to sell over 700,000 albums in 2 months. Will I be nominated for a Grammy?

In other words, is it just a popularity contest?

I dont think it is based on how many albums u sale....because there is alot of artists that get a grammy nod that havent sold that many albums but something gets them nominated.
