Has the water bottle industry standard changed 1 year later?

Referring to A.J.'s question a year ago, are water bottle caps still made of a different plastic that contaminate the rest of the bottles when melted? Have there been any changes in water bottle manufacturing a year later?

If the caps are white while the bottle is not, they are still a problem for recycling.

We really need to switch from recycling water bottles to reusing them... Each person keeps their own reusable bottle, keeps it clean, and fills it with water that has been chlorinated or ozonated, or even sterilized with hydrogen peroxide.
