is there a way to connect PS3 to a LG flatron computer monitor with a hdmi cable?

is there a way to connect PS3 to a LG flatron computer monitor with a hdmi cable?

I have a cable with one end HDMI that connects to ps3 and its other end is DVI-D that connect to my computer LCD LG flatron computer monitor.
the problem is how do I set up my PS3 to work with it, right now they dont seem to communicate with each other.
I heard it is possible, does anyone know how to do it.
