Windows Vista doesn't recognize Iphone, storage cards and flash drives?

Windows Vista started playing up recently. It doesn't recognise Iphone and it doesn't appear in My Computer, some storage cards are not being recognised or I get a window that it is installing a driver which goes on for ages and in the end it states that it couldnt find a driver. Same is with flash drives...it may take ages for it to recognise it. What should I do?

I've tried McAfee, Sophos, Adware to find and remove what ever virus there may be, but none of these find anything. Tried Windows repair as well

Have you tried searching for the exact drivers for your cards via a search engine. You could contact the manufacturer of your cards and get drivers for them to be readable.
