Verizon? I have an iPhone 5 that I've had for almost 7 months (still within the 1 year warranty) and it's starting to show signs of malfunction, mainly the sleep/wake button which isn't working properly (have to press its left side of it for it to work). I've been reading online and it seems it's a common problem with the 5, and replacement guaranteed.

I'm currently on uncle's family plan. I have the phone, but it's in his wife's name. Meaning, when the bills come out every month, my number is listed under her name. I've been told that once I get my replacement from apple, Apple will take care of everything and activate my new phone for me by taking the SIM out of the old iPhone and sticking it inside the new one. Is there any truth to that? or do I have to take it to Verizon along with my uncle to have my replacement activated?
