Any VERY simple mac apps for writing simple iPhone/iPod touch apps?

i tried the apple iphone skd and it completely baffled me, i tried tried the tutorials and the person might as well have been talking Swedish. I an just looking for an application with a user friendly userface. i thought i was quite good with computers, so i thought maybe i would try writing software but it seems WAY beyond me. ty
