I need to reset my itouch 4g?

I have a 4g ipod that I haven't picked up in a couple months, and I don't remember the password. I know you can just go into settings and reset it, but I can't get onto the ipod without the password which I can't remember, and I know you can hook it up to itunes and reset it that way, but the computer I had itunes on broke. I have a new computer now, but the ipod won't let me connect to itunes on my new computer unless I unlock it, so I need to know how to reset it so I can use it again. Please and Thank you!

    1.open itunes through computer

2.put your ipod into d.f.u mode

3.wait untill it finds your ipod

    4.press restore

ps.use your adapter to connect to the computer
