A lot? A little? What happens when they resist? Do you try harder? Do you give up?

honestly ill tell you how i really feel about this question.personally iam scared of atheist and i would be a bit nervous speaking with them.but if they really had a question and they asked me and was respectful i would of course talk to them.but a person who is atheist or dosent belive in god or hates god i will question that persons actions towards the outside world.meaning if they would hurt someone and thats a bit of a problem because you are not suppose to live in fear.

no one is perfect and iam saying iam not.so with that said i may be a bit quiet around them.

i have never met a atheist in real life and i would never in million years want to.thats what apart of me says however....i also feel if they really have a question and wants my advice on god and mabe wanting to change i would talk. god bless

Educate? Is that a subtler word than "convert"?

I respect everyone's beliefs, regardless, because I want that respect to be reciprocated. I clarify misunderstandings (for example, some of my friends were laughing about the "rich man and the eye of a camel" story. They thought I was stupid for believeing in something so literal, and I explained to them that the "eye of a camel" actuall referred to the narrow gates in the walls that surrounds cities in Biblical times.)

I don't try to "educate" others who have already decided for themselves because I don't want them to "educate" me about their faithlessness. To each his own, you know?

I don't think you should really try to educate the person or push it on them so much. Remember God is a gentlemen, he wont force himself on you, he's patient. Just slowly express to the person how God is in your life and be an example. Thats always the best way, they can't really come down on you and how God is in your life because you don't come down on them for not having God. I hope I made sense. All and all, just be an example.

I generally don't evangelize towards atheists because they are most often angry and tumultuous inside. Being hostile towards scripture reading people like me, I wait it out until they have become less so, for I know that it is difficult to sustain oneself in a state such as this type of hostility without considerable outside input of hatred.

I have yet to meet an atheist who won't get cranky if i allude to anything Biblical.

The thing about Atheists is, they already know the crap you are trying to "educate" them on. Most of us probably know the bible better than some Christians. WE KNOW!

If you were a die-hard Christian would you suddenly become an Atheist because I gave you some high pressure sales pitch? People believe what they believe, you can't change that.
