I am gay and I only say "hello" or once in a while MAYBE a hug (if its their birthday or xmas).

I greet all my friends the same....with a hug....that's for gay, straight, bi, tri...whatever...

without fear of the of proverbial baseball bat swining at our heads - i would say it depends on the environment we are in. i WISH i could kiss my boyfriend in public or show affection to him, but, I can't do that. I highly doubt people would tell us to "go get a room" - they would harrass us, mock us, and probably attack us. Depending on where we were of course.

My friends and I hug a lot, but most of them are straight.

Depends on the friend. My closest friends are greeted with a kiss and or hug and I don't care where I am I am not going to let people keep me from greeting the ones I care about.
