i have cable one high speed internet 3.0 and my signal is fine, but when i moved the computer into another room it received no signal at all. i had the cable wire split into two in both rooms (between a tv and the computer), the splitter says 3.5 db on each end (whatever that means). the room where i want the computer doesn't have it's own cable wire, the cable wire in that room comes from a split cable wire in the other room next to it. split one - from wall, split into two, one wire to tv, one wire to room. split two (wire that goes into room is split again)- to tv, to computer. kinda confusing.

wall to splitter1, on splitter1 is a tv and another cable wire, the wire runs to another room, splitter2 (which is on the cable wire from splitter1) on splitter two is a tv and a computer.

that's basically what it is like. is the two splitters the problem? are they draining the signal?

that is probably the most logical reason. try placing the cable modem on the first splitter, and run a longer ethernet cord/wireless to the router/computers. that should solve the strength issue
