Really Important: Is there a way to block internet sites on my Apple (MAC) computer?

I have tried time after time to discipline myself to not go to distracting sites when it comes to being on the computer. Unfortunately, I have failed and, time after time, I go to distracting sites and end up wasting tons of hours looking up distracting things and watching distracting videos rather than doing what I need to do.

In fact, I am REALLY disappointed with my behavior and that I do not have the discipline necessary to do what I need to.

So, how do I start blocking tons of sites from my computer? I need answers right away so I can begin the process!!

BTW: My school is able to block sites to its students on its computers, so why can't I do the same (my thoughts on the matter). I need to make my environment at home similar to my environment at school in my opinion.

OKAY, NEW INFORMATION: Someone brought up something called Leopard and asked if I was running it. How do I check if I am or not? Also, how do I make my account "Limited"?
Thanks for all answers in advance!
