"Internet Explorer Has Stopped Working" error message...?

This appears when I try to close an I.E window...the message pops up... or when i try to install something (for example Skype) it pops up and freezes and I can't install it....

    how do i fix this?

One thing you could try doing is uninstalling internet explorer then reinstalling it (download the installer onto your computer before uninstalling IE, make sure to hit "Save" not "Run") If that does not work I would download another Internet Browser such as:

Firefox- the most commonly used Internet Browser
    >>http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/<<

Google Chrome- A very fast very simple Internet Browser (does not work with all websites but a very large majority it does and if a web page will not work u can always copy the URL into Firefox or IE)

Opera-A very well built Browser key feature being Speed Dial, setting up to eight hotlink homepages for faster browsing.

Hope this helps, I would strongly suggest just getting one of these browsers, no offense to Microsoft but Internet Explorer is not worth the hassle. Best Of Luck!
