One way, you can go to their house and ask them to stop, or you can break their wireless adapter

Or

You can set up a security like WEP

Log into your router and look under the security settings. You need to add a security key such as WEP, WPA or WPA2. I suggest using WPA or WPA2 which is much stronger than WEP.

Most home routers have an IP address near the beginning of your particular subnet such as http://192.168.1.1 or something very similiar (look at your router's instruction manual or locate the IP address by searching the router model on the manufacturer's website). Different routers have different default username/password combinations, which you will definitely need to look up documentation for. Some do accept blank usernames and/or passwords, depending on the model.

Yep, like Samuel Adams says, a SURPRISING number of routers come with an administrator password of "admin"! Either look up the instructions or get on the line with your router folks and find out how to change that thingie post haste. (I wish they'd stress that as a first step of installation!)

If you get online with a representative, some (like mine) will try to persuade you to change the admin password to something like your phone number. If I were you (which of course I'm not) I'd think beforehand of something a little bit better. Something you're DANGED SURE to remember but something a little harder for an outsider to figure out, something weird like H3rB3r+h0@^3r

(That's Herbert Hoover - can you see it?)

Remember, any device in your home that connects to the router will have to know that password.
