Thread: How do I set a password to my wireless internet router?

So people outside of my house cannot use it without knowing the password.

I have a D-Link Di-524 model.

u can setup security password...and more..

You would either enable WEP or WPA encryption and then set a password (WPA) or a hex key (WEP). I beleive you can access the settings by going into http://192.168.0.1. Please note that if the computer you are on is connected via Wireless, you will need to enter the key after you set it to continue to be connected by reconnecting to your SSID (network name).

The default admin login IP address for dlink wireless routers, I think, is http://192.168.0.1, then login as admin and no password. Since you do not really know how to setup a password on your router, I suggest you use the wizard on the first page. that will solve your problem.
