Whenever I close my laptop or it enters sleep mode it will disconnect from the internet. When I sleep I want to download stuff so it will be ready the next day. How can I make it stay connected to the internet?

Just in case you need this, it is windows vista.

When it is asleep it's almost like it is off. You need to make the screen turn off without the computer going into sleep. I don't know the exact place you change this setting in Vista but in XP it's something like energy saver. Just change it so that the screen turns off after however many minutes and it goes to sleep Never.
