everytime i close out of a page an error message says internet explore needs to

close dell with windows xp? when you x out of a page this message comes up and you have an option of reporting it or not to microsoft.

Sounds like a browser issue. try visiting windowsupdate.microsoft.com and uploading the latest browser plus all the latest downloads. if you already have Internet Explorer 7, then reinstall it again. Reinstalling worked for a customers machine.

You may also have some type of spyware or other malware that is causing this error. Please run your anti-virus and anti-spyware software to scan for issues.

If you've recently purchased the computer within the last 12 months, it may still be under warranty. Contact Dell at support.dell.com and request their technical assistance, you get one year with new unit and they may be able to address the issue quicker than trying to troubleshoot it yourself.

Thats very odd.

If you want my professional opinion just get Firefox. Its faster, safer, and better than Internet Explorer. You can get it for free at firefox.com.
