Does the internet have a system core?

Like, does it have a "Main Internet Building" or something like that, with one great big system core?

Or is the internet one great big integrated system?

nope. the "internet" is just a bunch of computers and servers connected to each other.

it was developed by the government for military use, in case the soviet union tried to wipe out our phone system. it would be another way to communicate between cities.
