emergency; this riddle, is it impossible?
Two days ago Michael was nine years old. Next year he will be 12 years old. What day of the year is his birthday? Choices for an answer are 'January 1st', 'February 28th', 'February 29th' and 'December 31st'. Anyone have any idea, 'cause I am MUCH better at things that require knowledge than some random riddles. I really don't understand this question, and it's beginning to get under my skin.
Logically, if his birthday is the 1st, 3rd, of 4th answers, the question makes no sense, right? but leap years are once ever 4, not once every three. The timing of the riddle doesn't click in my head, and if you were to say that the 'two days ago' has nothing to do with it, then I still don't know if it is appropriate to assume that while his birthday counts normal year time (the jump from nine to 12) the wording of the question places his birthday 'next year'. Next year means NOTHING in that context. It could mean next regular calendar year. It could mean next Leap Year. Hell, it could be some form of religious calendar I dare not touch. IT becomes too vague for me... hence my anger and lack of patience concerning this riddle.
Anyone who can help would be gladly welcomed. Thank you for your consideration.
