A couple of riddles...?
Be the first one to get these right and get 10 points!
1. On my way to St. Ives I met a man with seven wives. Each wife had seven sacks; each sack had seven cats; each cat had seven kits. Kits, cats, wives and sacks – how many were going to St. Ives?
2. One day, there was a young man that wanted to buy a box from this store.
The box's actual price was $18, but the price tag said it was $21.
The young man gave the owner of the store a $100 bill. Since he didn't have change, the owner went over to his neighbor's house, exchanged the $100 bill for $1's, and gave $79 to the young man.
(the young man dies later... how sad...)
Later that day, the neighbor realizes that the $100 bill the owner of the store gave him was fake, so the owner has no choice but to give another $100 to his neighbor.
The question is: How much money did the owner of the store lose in all?
...and for the 2nd one, please show your thinking
