Answer to Pirate Riddle- HELP!?
A friend of mine gave this to me and I cannot answer it! I'd love your help! Thank you so much!
5 pirates have to divide 100 ducats. You have pirate number 1, number 2, number 3 and so on. They have decided they will divide the treasure in the following way. They will start with letting pirate number 5 make a suggestion as to how the ducats should be divided among themselves. Now if the majority agrees with him, they divide it and that's it. If the majority does not agree with him then he is killed. And then they let pirate 4 make a suggestion and so on.
Now keep in mind that:
1. These pirates are very blood thirsty
2. They are greedy and their greed exceeds their blood thirst
3. They are, for the sake of this riddle,very,very smart, forward thinking and perfectly logical.
Now the question is, how will the pirates divide the ducats and how many of them will be left when the final deal is agreed upon?
