Connecting 5.1 surround DIN output to 3X 3.5mm (TRS) stereo?
I recently bought a set of Logitech 5.1 surround speakers to use as part of my home entertainment system. These have the three-cable setup, with the green, black, and gold miniature stereo jacks as their inputs for front, rear, and center/subwoofer, respectively.
I first bought connectors that would merge the standard white/red audio cables into three sets of stereo TRS cables...but quickly realized this left me with six speakers making sound, but definitely not surround.
I did some research and found a cheap AC3 decoder, in the form of the CyberHome CH-SRD 600R/H System. This is actually marketed as a pair of 5.1 headphones (with three speakers on each side). The system includes the headphones (which have a completely weird type of jack instead of a TRS) and a small 5.1 Channel Decoder about the size of one of those old clunky personal CD players.
The decoder, however, (besides having two outputs for the really weird headphone jacks) only has a "5.1 Surround Sound Output" which the manual says is for connecting to amplifyers and other systems that accept 5.1 Surround input. This 5.1 Output is a 9-pin DIN jack.
I've done some research, and actually found some 5.1 soundcards that also have the same jack for output (and in fact are helpful enough to provide a cord that goes from 9-pin DIN to 3X 3.5mm TRS), so I'm sure I'm not asking for something that doesn't exist.
But does ANYONE know where I can actually GET one of these cords?
