So i have a capacitor that is hooked up to my amp and i was relocating my amp... I accidently touched the positive and negative from my capacitor together and i think it blew. Sub doesn't sound as strong anymore after that. Is there anyway i could fix it or anything? Let me know please !
Would power still be able to pass throught the cap if it was blown? Anyways to test this?

Pretty much, If the cap isn't leaking, it's not damaged. Like the others said, it's almost impossible to damage a capacitor.

Chances are, the dead short and discharge of the capacitor caused damage somewhere else in your electrical or stereo system.

I doubt you did anything to your cap. It is very hard to damage a cap and when a cap isn't working it isn't going to work at all.

The problem is elsewhere or possibly in your head. You should check all your connections and settings. The cap is probably not going to be your problem.

Edit: If you really think it is your cap wire your amp up without it. The cap isn't going to be doing much for you anyways so if it is a problem just take it out. If that doesn't make a difference then you know it's not your cap.

mdc is right they are tough to damage, i have seen demos where a cap was charged, shorted with a wall of sparks and recharged over and over, use it or loose it nobody even knows how to test if they are strong or not but i favor them unless you have a second battery.

edit if a cap is bad power should just flow over the terminals but then again it could suck out the goodness that the cap is supposed to give you.
