I work at a company that gives you 56 hours a year of PTO. Once it is gone, it's gone and if you miss work for whatever reason (you're sick, your child is sick, etc) you get written up. I was in a car accident earlier this year and used up most of the 56 hours. I have been sick with Migraines and an ulcer. I have gotten two write ups and I had to go home early yesterday because I was vomiting blood and was in so much pain I could barely move. I went to the er yesterday where they did an NG and I had a lot of bleeding from it. My er dr told me not to work today and to follow up with my pcp today. I went into work today for fear of getting in trouble, but with the blood loss and pain I could not focus so I gave the supervisor my note and I left, meaning that I may get a final warning. I find this very unfair, as this is a medical condition that needs urgent care... are there any recourses?
