Working out at gym, no pain after a while?

Hey, i am fairly new to weight training, have only been doing it a couple of months and doing well. I have a question though, why is it that when i first started i could barely move, and i could feel my muscles how sore and stressed they were, i could really tell that it was working. After the first maybe 2 weeks i started feeling these pains less and less. Why is this? should i be feeling pain? I just end up very tired after a hard workout now
