Thread: Why can many people afford cigarettes, but cannot afford the co-pay of their

medications? I work in an ER and a large number of patients claim they cannot afford the co-pay of their medicine, even .00 at local pharmacies, but they go outside to smoke cigarettes while waiting for teat results.

These same people would explode wityh anger if I mention the possibility of buying their medicine instead of cigarettes.
