so, I have a gas fireplace and normally we just put wood on it, use the flame from the gas at first to get the wood lit and then turn the gas off later. so I went to start it but I turned the gas on all the way. and I remembered that you're only supposed to turn it on a little, so I turned it way down. I wasnt thinking and I immediately clicked the lighter thing to start the flame. It kind of like exploded and burned the top of my hand and arm. they hurt a litte and are a little red so right now so I dont think I burnt them too bad. but my eye now feels a little weird. I can see fine, but I have a weird tingling feeling in my eye and it is the slightest bit red right where I have the weird feeling. Is it possible to burn your eye? or maybe this is all my imagination from the shock of seeing the "explosion"?

I feel so stupid that I did this the one night my parents are away. I've made a fire in that fireplace at least a dozen times before... and I've always been fine.

also, anything you suggest I do to help with my burnt hand?
