It looks like my husband is going to need to have a surgical biopsy on a lymph node in his neck. It is located on the side of his neck, but up near the top by his jaw. The ENT specialist mentioned that sometimes a "drainage tube" needs to be placed in the incision before the patient wakes up to drain any blood and avoid clotting for the first couple days. That part really freaked him out. Can anyone give us a good idea of what he can expect for recovery time, discomfort or anything related to this lovely "drainage tube" so he feels a bit more prepared? Thank you!
