My husband needs to lose weight. The doctor told him basically a reduced carb diet, but he wants to try Weight Watchers first. I understand there are two different methods you can choose from with WW, one involving points allowed throughout the day and the other one I don't know.

What are both methods?

How to calculate the points? I know it's based on aged, current weight, gender, etc, but don't know how to figure my husband's points. He's 55, weighs 205 and needs to lose about 25-30 lbs, moderately active (lifts weights and "runs" 5 days a week), inactive at work. Does that help?
Thanks for any help!
