yesterday I got a toothpick stuck in my foot and I pulled I out and it was in my foot about an eighth of an inch and now I can hardley walk on the foot it was in. Should this be expected or is something wrong?

Go see a doctor. That could be serious. Someone probably used that toothpick and it was covered in nasty bacteria. See a doctor today if you can.
