I was diagnosed a year ago with PCOS - Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, though I've never had a test done to find any cysts. My doctor diagnosed me on the basis that I suffered every single symptom on the list. Twice in the last three days I've had extremely sharp, burning pains on my left side. First it was toward my back and then where my left ovary is. My mom attributes this to normal menstrual pains, though I've never had pains like this with my cycle. I have dull, tolerable cramps generally, and have never really felt discomfort with ovulation, so that's why I'm really curious about these pains.

Also, the first time I had them two days ago, it was a constant, growing pain that had me doubled over. Now, it's a sharp pain, but it's touch-sensitive - when I bend over or stretch or something, that's when it hurts. Just sitting still, it's fine. When I touch that place on my stomach, it hurts, too.

So, question: are these pains cysts, or am I just overreacting?
