Are there any non-drug methods I could use to get rid of these awful Bactrim

side-effects? I have been on Bactrim for about three days now for a urinary tract infection. The first day I took it, nothing happened, the second day however, was followed by lovely late-afternoon vomiting and nausea. The third day I had the worst headache ever, with the same sensation of nausea. I refused to take it today after doing my research and finding that these symptoms are in fact the most common side-effects of Bactrim. Even though I haven't taken it today, I still feel like crap. Is there any way besides Motrin which isn't helping at all to get rid of this head ache?

You need to call your doctor, because you are having a sensitivity to the drug if not an allergy to it. They took me off Bactrim/Sulfa drugs just because I would get headaches after two days of treatment. And they list it as an allergy now when I am admitted to the hospital.

And your headache is also because of your UTI. Try ice packs and lay down in a dark, quiet room. Also take the Motrin.

It's probably best to just let time go by and you'll feel better. But I assume Bactrim is an antibiotic, and you're usually supposed to not just stop taking antibiotics..
