I'm a heart patient (with high blood pressure) and the doctor has asked me to stop including salt in my diet. So all my food is now tasteless and awful to eat. I would like to know if I can use soy sauce as a substitute to table salt (cooking salt) instead. Or are there any substitutes to cooking salt that are not harmful to the body or cause problems with blood pressure.

Also, I have been told that eating onions is good for the blood as it contains a natural blood thinner. Is this true?
