i have gastritous and am on meds...(warning, tmi)?

and i have been constipated for a few days. i just tried to go again and i'm sorry, i know this is tmi but, there was a clump of blood but i'm not sure if it's from my behind or from my period. what can i do to tell? is it a bad idea to use a laxative?

i also have a bad cough where i hack until i vomit. it's been like this for a couple weeks though the constipation problem has been about 3 days now.
