I am 13 first of all, and my doctor wants me to have a chest x-ray to check on me...and the only reason I go to her is for my (VERY well controlled) asthma. I've been to her before, but have never had an X-Ray at an office. Usually it's always been when I am in the hospital...like when I had ankle surgery last year.

So anyway...my question is, at the doctor's office, y do they make u change into the gown for an X-ray?? Can't X-rays see through ur clothes to whatever is being X-rayed? An x-ray seeing through a gown is like an x-ray seeing through a shirt, right?

I don't mind changing, I just always wondered what the difference between a gown and my shirt would be???

OK, so when I change into the gown....do I leave my pants on or take those off? What about underwear? Do I have to keep it on, do I have to take it off, or does it matter either way? If it doesn't matter, what do u think I should I do? Same thing for my bra? on or off? does it matter? what should I do?

THANKS!!
