I've been on the pill for 15 years now and I'm thinking of stopping it because of my age (early 30s) and health reasons. I've been reading about the pill and found out that it you have high cholesterol or high blood pressure you should maybe not take the pill. I have had these both for many years along with headaches. I'm just wondering why my doctor would never take me off of them? I'm thin, in shape, and a vegetarian. I never could understand why my cholesterol/BP was high and now I'm thinking it's because of my birth control. Should I just do what I think is best and stop taking the pill despite what my doctor thinks?

Also, I am on no meds for high cholesterol or high blood pressure.
