high blood pressure?

my friend is 20 years old and just told me he has high blood pressure he has had it for 2 years and its genetic. he used to be on meds for it but now he isnt because he dont feel like going to the doctor. he eats out alot since he works in the mall and he eats like grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch. i was wondering how serious is high blood pressure he says when he measures it its just right at the high point. so i guess it isnt very high but im not sure how high it is. and if he takes the meds he needs regularly will it keep his blood pressure at a normal level and can he live a completely normal life or is there no way to get his blood pressure down? if it matters he is 20 5'5 150lbs and asian and he smokes. im just worried about him cause he is too stupid to care.Thanks!!

He is a heart attack waiting to happen. If that is a sample of his normal diet and him not taking his medication he is seriously putting his life in jeopardy. Please do what you can to encourage him to see his dr, perhaps talking to his parents might help.

Many things can bring on high blood pressure, hereditary, stress, eating habits.....etc
And yes if he doesn't keep it in check it can lead to heart attack and/or stroke.
I hope he takes it more serious, because at the rate he's going it could really effect his health.....
